Megan & Chad

Meghan and Chad got married on the front deck of the stunning Captain’s House in Chester, Nova Scotia!

Their laid-back October wedding was cozy, with scarves as wedding favours, hearty food for dinner, and delicious homemade pies by their family members for dessert. Their bridesmaids each wore a dress in a different fall colour, and their decor was simple yet elegant, featuring greenery and burgundy hues.

Guests mingled and danced all night long in the intricate rooms throughout the main floor of the Captain’s House, only stopping when the pizza arrived for the late-night snack — the perfect way to end the night!

Caitlin was a huge help both leading up to my wedding and on the day of. She was very organized, professional and supportive through it all. Caitlin was extremely patient with me and helped me to make informed decisions about the logistics, schedule, decor, etc. There were a few last minute issues that came up (out of our control) and Caitlin was able to stickhandle them without me even knowing about it until after. I highly recommend her services, just knowing she was on top of everything allowed not just me but also my family and bridal party to relax and enjoy the day. They day truly would not have been the same without her.

Erin & Patrick

Erin and Patrick’s holiday wedding at Alderney Landing was truly a winter wonderland. With the late afternoon sun streaming through the ceiling-high windows, Erin walked down the aisle with their daughter Helena in her arms, before her and Patrick said “I do” in front of almost 100 of their friends and family members.

Celebrating their wedding the day before New Year’s Eve, their reception was adorned with poinsettias, gold accents and pretty holiday decor. Their joyful and care-free demeanour lasted throughout the whole day down to the very last song of the dance.

Guests at our wedding commented on how well-organized, calm and level-headed Caitlin was all throughout our wedding celebration. She was always professional and definitely has the right personality for the job!

JUSTINE & DON

Justine & Don

Justine and Don’s rustic and nautical-inspired Oceanstone wedding was one to remember. While planning the wedding from Alberta, Justine and Don enlisted our services to help secure the remaining vendors and ensure everything was ready to go here in Nova Scotia when they arrived.

The wedding festivities kicked off with a lobster boil following the rehearsal — a real treat for those visiting from away. Despite heavy rain the next day, Justine, Don and their wedding party were absolute troopers and were adamant to still have their ceremony outside by the ocean. A sea of umbrellas made for unique photos, not to mention the wedding party decked out in ponchos and rain boots, bought in by the groomsmen just an hour before the ceremony.

From the photos of passed loved ones strung across her bouquet handle, to all of the signs at the wedding made by a childhood friend, their wedding day was full of special touches, and guests danced the night away.

I just wanted to give one huge recommendation as I just got married in June back home in Nova Scotia. If you are looking for an amazing wedding planner who is smart, professional and amazing at listening to your every request, then I highly recommend Caitlin Gray! This girl was a saviour for my wedding as I was getting overwhelmed with all the planning and meeting vendors, price comparing, etc. I went out on a limb as she reached out to me and I have never met her before and after our first Skype meeting as I was planning from Calgary I knew right away she was the perfect fit. It can be scary letting a stranger help run your big day but trust me she makes you feel like you have known her your whole life. I am honoured to now call her my friend. She works so hard and she will go above and beyond your expectations. She was so very professional and knew so much about the vendors, decorating and made my EXACT vision come true during our special day. She let me relax and enjoy my wedding weekend as she made sure everything was done perfectly for me. I was able to have so much fun knowing all the small little details were all being taken care of by someone I trusted. She was such a trooper and made my wishes come true by still having an outside wedding despite the rain that day. This girl is amazing and I promise you will not be disappointed if you choose her to help create one of the best days of your life. I truly could not have picked a better wedding planner and everyone at the wedding also commented on how wonderful she was. Thank you so much, Caitlin!

JACKIE & TONY

Jackie and Tony

Jackie and Tony’s rustic valley wedding was nothing short of special.

Jackie met Tony after moving out west for work, but there was no way she could celebrate her wedding anywhere else but at her family’s cottage near Berwick, Nova Scotia, where she spent all of her summers growing up.

They tied the knot at a small church in Berwick before heading back to Jackie’s family’s cottage on the lake for the dinner and reception. Guests enjoyed the view and a buffet dinner while seated in an outdoor pavilion, built by Jackie’s father. The evening was capped off with fireworks above the lake and guests roasting s’mores.

Caitlin was nothing but professional and so supportive through the planning process. Her organizational and time management skills were a huge asset and helped make sure everything went smoothly. She provided us with a minute by minute itinerary and executed it perfectly the day of.She communicated with all the vendors through email and was the main contact person the day of to allow me and my husband time and energy to enjoy our day. She eased our stress also with her cheerful and positive attitude and we are so thankful for all she did! Highly recommend her to anyone to help on their special day! Thank you, Caitlin.

MARGIE & MARK

Margie and Mark

Margie and Mark tied the knot on a beautiful September day at the Links at Penn Hills. With the beautiful rolling greens as a backdrop at their outdoor ceremony, they said “I do” with their adorable twin boys by their sides underneath an arch that Mark built. Baby’s breath lined the aisle and adorned every dinner table, along with touches of burlap and mint green lace.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Caitlin was to work with; from the initial planning stages, to the coffee dates after dress fittings, to the end result. I was able to enjoy the planning and the day itself without stress, because Caitlin is incredibly organized and thought of things I never even knew I needed. I felt like I was in the hands of a professional, but at the same time it was like I was working with a best friend. I’m incredibly indecisive and Caitlin guided me into making the best decisions and having the greatest day ever!
I truly feel that everyone needs a Caitlin!
— Margie Hennigar

Margie and Mark’s love of golf was evident all throughout the day from their golf ball table numbers and their customized golf ball favours to their golf cart adventure following the ceremony to get photos taken at their favourite holes on the course. When guests weren’t enjoying the photobooth props, they were busy on the dance floor where Margie’s cousin Jeff kept the tunes playing long into the night under the warm glow of twinkly lights and lit-up lanterns.

CHRISTINA & JEVIN

I’m a bit of a perfectionist and used to plan events for a living. For my wedding, I had already done some upfront planning and knew I wanted a day-of wedding coordinator to help execute all the little details I care so much about. Lots of people assume you can do this yourself or enlist a family member, but it’s SO important to have a professional on your side to be your advocate - weddings can be stressful!! After considering a few local options, I chose Caitlin. She’s insanely organized, incredibly personable and the perfect fit for anyone who values having time to enjoy their wedding day. I was able to hang with family and friends, have special moments with my husband, and dance-offs with my niece and nephew, instead of stressing about items that Caitlin had completely under control. Oh, on top of that she went above and beyond leading up to the event - sourced and picked up print materials, constructed an entire archway, transported flowers and signage (to name just a few). I would highly recommend Gray Weddings & Events. Best decision I ever made!

Christina & Jevin

Christina and Jevin brought me on board a month before their fall wedding to help finalize some of their decor pieces and organize all of the remaining details. Their ceremony took place at St. Gregory's Church in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. October 27th was unusually cold and windy, but the kindness and warmth their family and friends exuded all throughout the day made everyone forget about the weather. Christina wore a custom Katrina Tuttle gown with a cathedral-length veil while her bridesmaids donned wine-coloured gowns.

The cocktail hour and reception took place at White Point Beach Resort and featured special touches from the couple such as framed photos in memory of those that had passed and one of Jevin's guitars to sign as the guestbook. The atmosphere throughout the evening was warm and cozy with lanterns surrounded by greenery and red and black accent flowers from Humble Burdock Farms as the guest table centrepieces. There was not a dry eye in the room once the speeches got underway and everyone was quick to join the bride and groom on the dance floor following their first dance.

NICOLE & PATRICK

Nicole & Patrick

Nicole and Patrick tied the knot on July 6, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier University (STFX) in Antigonish, NS - the place they first met and fell in love. Their ceremony took place at the university chapel, and I knew from the moment I saw it during a site visit that it would be a magical spot. The white pillars at the front of the chapel pictured above paired with the brick exterior made for such a beautiful and timeless backdrop for some of their photos. In fact, when I first met them they were already talking about how they couldn’t wait to take photos on these stairs. The inside of the chapel is equally as beautiful and what a treat for guests to watch Nicole and her dad walk down the long aisle, lined with glowing lanterns.

At the reception, elegant signage (with calligraphy done by the bride herself) took centre stage along with hints of gold and dusty blue. Beautiful floral centerpieces by Twig & Twine Floristry adorned every table, and there was even a balloon wall for a photobooth! However, the true highlight of the evening was when the late night snack arrived which was pizza from The Wheel (a STFX tradition and crowd favourite), plus a tower of McDoubles - the guests could not have been happier. It was definitely a day (and night) to remember!

You will not find a more genuine, dedicated and deeply personal planner than Caitlin. For over a year, Caitlin guided us through every decision providing insight where needed while ensuring that our day was truly unique to us as a couple. The day of our wedding we spent the day focused on each other, family and friends as Caitlin and her team took care of every detail. The venue tear-down was seamless and Caitlin took care of co-ordinating all of our rental returns. We were blown away by Caitlin’s precision in planning and attention to detail. More than just a planner, Caitlin has become a very special friend to us. Hiring Gray Weddings & Events was by far the best decision that we made in planning our wedding.

 KRISTI AND JAMES

Kristi & James

Kristi and James’s wedding day was the perfect elevated backyard celebration! Taking place on the gorgeous property that once belonged to Kristi’s godmother on the south shore of Nova Scotia, the wedding started with a ceremony in what resembled an enchanted garden. The most adorable flower girls stole the show just before Kristi appeared in a stunning ballgown and made her way to James. Once the marriage was official, James and Kristi were showered with lavender and then headed to the barn on-site to enjoy the cocktail hour with friends and family, featuring charcuterie from Cocoa Pesto Catering and local beer!

The dinner and dance took place at another spot on the property in a huge white tent sprinkled with more twinkly lights than you could ever imagine! With touches of rustic decor and florals from Barefoot Blooms, the space was cozy yet sophisticated. Following a delicious buffet dinner, guests danced the night away on the dance floor to some east coast favourites!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Caitlin. From our first meeting through to the incredibly long day she put in on our wedding day, she was dedicated to ensuring everything was executed perfectly. She helped bring my vision to life.

On the day of our wedding, Caitlin and her assistant were on the go non-stop. They liaised with every vendor, ensured every detail was handled, and sheltered us from any little issue that arose. We were able to be truly present and enjoy our day because of her attention to detail, hustle, and ability to wrangle.

On top of it all, her smile is infectious. Whizzing around with her emergency toolkit, she brought an air of positivity to every part of the day. I’m so thankful we had her support.
Thank you, Caitlin!

JENNY AND JESSE

Jenny & Jesse

Where to begin? First and foremost, our wedding day would not have been the same without the help of Caitlin and her assistant, Susan!
We hired Gray Weddings and Events for their month-of coordination package and it was one of the best decisions we made throughout our planning process! I am a person who enjoys planning, hosting gatherings and am quite organized myself; however, I knew without the help of someone on the big day, I would not have been able to be fully present (nor would some of my family members like my mother and sister).

Caitlin felt like a friend right from the beginning. She was genuinely excited about the planning I had done up to that point which made me want her a part of the day that much more. She regularly offered assistance, and provided opinions where appropriate while being respectful of the vision we were trying to execute. In spite of the new found friendship, Caitlin maintained her professionalism until the very end.

One month out, Caitlin kept in regular contact with me through emails/text/in-person meetings, started preparing detailed documents to keep me and my vendors on track, and attended all pertinent events leading up to the big day (eg rehearsal) - all to ensure she understood every detail we envisioned. My family along with numerous vendors commented on Caitlin’s organization and attention to detail. Our DJ, in particular, shared with us that she is the nicest and best wedding planner he had worked with (he said this before the big day even happened!).
In closing, I was fully present on the wedding day from the very beginning to when the dance floor lights came on, as was my sister, mother, and now husband. Any hiccups that occurred I was unaware of until days later; Caitlin and Susan handled them with grace, professionalism and quick thinking skills. I was so glad she even shared a dance with me on the dance floor, and when my bustle broke, her trusty emergency kit saved the night! The services Gray Weddings and Events provided us were exceptional and worth every penny (and much more!!).
Thank you, Caitlin and Susan!

Jenny and Jesse got married on October 26, 2019 at the beautiful Lord Nelson Hotel in Halifax. Their day started with a first look on the front steps of the Lord Nelson, followed by wedding party photos at nearby Long Lake Park, and finally the ceremony and reception. Their ceremony space was so elegant - Jenny (in a stunning Katrina Tuttle gown) and her dad walked down an aisle lined with floating candles, and she and Jesse said an intimate “I do” in front of a white satin backdrop featuring a hanging vine by Twig & Twine Floristry. Gorgeous florals, also by Twig & Twine Floristry, were a standout decor piece on every table throughout the reception as they included toffee-coloured blooms, creams and yellows. Jenny even ordered toffee-coloured candles to match. Some highlights were a choreographed line dance by the groom and his mom, and their nephew’s small basketball net that they brought in (it’s a family favourite) to use as a prop for the “kissing game.” Their wedding day was full of so many personal touches and seasonal colours making for the perfect fall celebration.

Raeanne & Ryan

Did you get engaged and don’t know where to start? Are you thinking of getting a wedding planner but really aren’t sure? Well I can assure you.. STOP thinking and HIRE Caitlin. I seriously would never have been able to have my wedding go as smoothly as it did without her. She made it easy! From the constant check in emails, texts and phone calls it really put my mind at ease. I remember talking to Caitlin on the phone and we would always chat for longer than scheduled. I would answer the phone in a complete panic and feeling of chaos but when I would hang up I would feel relaxed, excited and happy. Hands down hiring Caitlin as my wedding planner was the best investment. My family got to FULLY enjoy the day stress free and that meant I did too. Caitlin’s attention to all the details and even the small ones really meant the world to me. I’m happy to say that I’ve now gained a new friend too!
— Raeanne Jacobson

Raeanne and Ryan tied the knot on a beautiful August afternoon with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean as the backdrop at Oak Island Resort. Their friends travelled from near and far to celebrate and were treated to a heartfelt ceremony (featuring gorgeous arch florals by Flourish Floral Designs - pictured here) a delicious meal and a rocking dance party with DJ Jeff Knee of Atlantic Audio Pro. One of the sweetest moments of the day was when Raeanne’s sister walked Sierra, Raeanne and Ryan’s dog, down the aisle with her. The reception portion of the evening was seaside-themed with “mermaid” green as the accent colour, also displayed in the bridesmaids’ skirts. Raeanne and Ryan enjoyed some time together just the two of them at their sweetheart table, located at the front of the room, with the resort property behind them through the windows. The space was also lit with hanging edison bulbs from Glow Parties, making for a cozy and intimate atmosphere, especially once all of Raeanne and Ryan’s guests hit the dance floor.
