Erin & Patrick

Erin and Patrick’s wedding took place on December 30th at Alderney Landing, and it’s so special for me to write about, as it’s the first wedding that I had a hand in planning as a newly certified wedding planner! I know Erin and Patrick through Chad, and was lucky enough to get to know them a lot better while helping them with some wedding planning. I am so grateful to Erin and Patrick for letting me help out and being so eager to let me play a role in their big day. As a new wedding planner, experience is key, and Erin and Patrick’s was such a great opportunity for me to get my feet wet!

What I’ve come to appreciate is how unique every wedding is… I love how the tiniest details make the biggest impact and how every little touch is a reflection of the couple and their love. Patrick and Erin’s wedding had a gorgeous wintery and elegant feel with the theme being gold and black. Decor included a christmas tree adorned with gold and silver ornaments, white poinsettias scattered throughout the venues and white and gold tulle. The centre of each table had a white poinsettia plant set on gold charger plates with gold ornament balls surrounding the base of the plant. All of the bouquets, corsages and flower arrangements were taken care of by Erin’s very talented Aunt Janice.

The ceremony took place in an atrium-like area of Alderney Landing just as it was getting dark. What made it so beautiful was all of the lights twinkling in Halifax that could be seen across the harbour through the wall to ceiling windows as Erin and Patrick said their “I do’s.” Erin and Patrick chose personal, non-traditional songs for the ceremony and fun songs suiting each member of the bridal party for their entrance to the reception. April, the lovely emcee, was so engaging and charismatic and even hosted some games on the dance floor throughout the evening to entertain the guests.

However, the best part of the day for me, was how Erin and Patrick included their beautiful little daughter Helena in the wedding. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room, when Erin carried Helena down aisle with her. They are the most adorable family of three.

Meaghan of MNEO Designs photographed the wedding and did an incredible job.  Be sure to click here to check out her website and scroll to the bottom to see a list of the other vendors that helped make Erin and Patrick’s day go off without a hitch.
